2025 年 10 月 28 日至 10 月 31 日，國際合成生物學競賽 iGEM 將於法國巴黎凡爾賽門展覽館（Porte de Versailles）舉行。本團隊為來自國立成功大學的 iGEM NCKU-Tainan 隊伍，致力於透過合成生物學解決重要醫療問題，並將代表臺灣前往參賽。

自 2024 年 12 月起，我們即展開跨領域的協作與研究，聚焦於臨床上困難處理的「人工關節術後生物膜感染」議題。這類感染多發生於免疫力較低的患者，例如糖尿病或高齡族群，且目前治療手段仍仰賴侵入性手術或長期使用高劑量抗生素，造成病患極大負擔。

現有療法多仰賴高劑量抗生素與侵入性手術，對病患造成極大負擔。我們設計了一株具備自我裂解能力的大腸桿菌，能於體溫下釋放專一性酵素以分解生物膜，作為 抗生素的輔助治療，以專一性酵素幫助分解生物膜，提升抗生素療效，並降低劑量與抗藥性風險。

為實現這項目標並順利赴法參賽，我們目前正進行募資計畫，並且於以下連結附上更詳細的募資與競賽主題介紹影片，誠摯邀請貴公司成為合作夥伴，不僅支持青年研究，也讓貴品牌與臺灣一同站上國際舞台。

From October 28 to 31, 2025, the iGEM Grand Jamboree—the world’s largest synthetic biology competition—will take place at the Porte de Versailles Exhibition Center in Paris, France.
We are the iGEM NCKU-Tainan team from National Cheng Kung University, proudly representing Taiwan with an innovative project tackling one of today’s pressing medical challenges.

This year, our research focuses on biofilm infections after joint replacement surgeries—a severe global issue often treated with invasive surgeries or prolonged high-dose antibiotics. Our solution is not a replacement therapy, but an adjunct treatment: engineered bacteria that release enzymes to degrade biofilms, thereby enhancing antibiotic efficacy, reducing dosage, and lowering resistance risks.

To achieve this goal and successfully represent Taiwan in Paris, we are currently conducting a fundraising campaign.
